Face The Day (Mimmy) Chapter 16 - The End:
***********************************************

2 Days Later...

Jimmy opened his eyes slowly and groaned, blinking against the harsh light blinding him. The beeping loudly echoing in the room was annoying and it was obvious to him that he was in the hospital and that his secret was finally out.

"It's about time you woke up."

"H-Hey, Z-Ziah. Wh-Where's Matt?" Jimmy asked, biting at the corner of his chapped bottom lip.

"To be honest, I really do not know, but he did ask me to give you this whenever you woke up," Ziah answered, laying an envelope on his scrawny abdomen.

Jimmy swallowed hard as he recognized Matt's handwriting across the front of the gold envelope. "O-Oh."

"You have to work on yourself and make yourself better before you can work things out with your husband," Ziah smiled a little and then placed a small kiss to the middle of his forehead before she walked out of the room, leaving Jimmy alone with his thoughts and regrets.

Jimmy twiddled his thumbs on top of the envelope that was still laying on his abdomen. He was terrified of what Matt had waiting for him in the legal-sized envelope, the type that would hold divorce papers very nicely he thought with a sinking feeling in his stomach. He took a deep breath, ripped the flap of the envelope open, pulled the stack of paper out and then laid it on his lap with a sigh. He shuffled through the 'Get Well' drawings from all four of his children with a huge smile, laughing when he saw the sloppy one that Mason had obviously done with the help of his brother and sister. He squeezed his eyes shut for a moment when he got to a letter from his husband, braced himself, opened his eyes and began reading the words Matt had written.

Jimmy ~
If you're reading this, then that means two things - 1: you're awake and 2: I'm not there. I can't believe that you just wouldn't trust me and let me know that you had something serious going on. Not only did you make the decision to starve yourself and put yourself at risk, but you also made the decision to put our children at risk. If it hadn't been for Charlie's quick and calm thinking, I shudder to think of what I would have found when I returned home that night. Our son is a true hero and you had a huge hand in making sure of that. Don't get me wrong, I love you so very much, but until you get help for the problems that you obviously have, we can't be together. We can't be a family. You have to make things right with you before you can start to make things right with me and our family. No need to worry about the kids, you'll be able to keep in contact with them and I won't stop you from eventually seeing them and being their Papa Jimmy once again. Right now, it's time for you to face the day. Face the first day of the rest of your life as a healthy and happy human being and the first day of the rest of our lives of being a happy and healthy family.
~Matt
This is the last chapter of this story. Just needed to get this done. To be honest, I'm not into it much at the moment and didn't wanna leave it unfinished. I may do an epilogue and/or a sequel to this story at another time if I feel like it and if there's enough people wanting it.
